Solidarity Training Fund: removing the obstacles to inclusive, vocational training

The Label Transition endowment fund was developed with the aim of creating or supporting solidarity projects to combat the digital divide. Since its creation, it has supported 16 projects and raised €35,000 to back them.

Label Emmaüs is also involved in training people in precarious situations. Thanks to its UI Designer course, which is equivalent to 3 years' higher education, Label École has already trained more than 250 people in digital professions. It currently takes on two classes a year of around twenty people, 80% of whom have a baccalaureate or less.

However, some people (asylum seekers and people with residence permits, for example) are excluded from vocational training because they don't have access to mainstream funding. This further excludes them from our society.

Given this situation, and as a player in the fight against exclusion and the digital divide, we want to create a solidarity training fund. Our aim is to go beyond simply offering free training. We'd like to be able to offer to cover their day-to-day expenses. This means accommodation, food and transport for the duration of the course (6 months).

With this more advanced approach, we want to focus our offer on people in very precarious situations, who are far from training and employment. The aim now is to provide access to free vocational training to promote equal opportunities.

We are therefore actively seeking funds to achieve our ambitious target of raising €160,000. The funds will be used to launch our first training and day-to-day support programmes for around ten learners in need.
