Mensen maken Amsterdam

Projet à l'échelle d'une ville

Description

The Amsterdam Community Foundation supports neighbourhood projects with 7 local community funds.

MMA is a foundation that started with one neighbourhood/community fund in Amsterdam Oost in 2014. It currently operates with six of these funds in various parts of Amsterdam. (West, Zuid, Zuidoost, Nieuw-West, Oost and Noord) MMA provides funds to different parts of the city and the goal of the fund is to support (hyper)local initiatives, democratically suggested and chosen by the community.

The projects that MMA fund vary from: cats for elderly people to garden projects for psychiatric patients through to sports fields and community meals. In each part of the city in which MMA operates there is a committee that decides which projects get funded. The committee is a reflection of the local community in that particular neighbourhood.

Per year, MMA receives appr. 400 applications for funds, about 50% of which are granted. The application amounts vary from 500 to 3000 euro per project. Per neighbourhood fund they have a budget of 60,000 euros per year.
