United4Rescue

United4Rescue is a broad alliance of organisations united by the mission of supporting sea rescue and safe escape routes.

United 4 Rescue is a non-profit organisation that, with the help of donations and the commitment of many volunteers, has already made several civil rescue missions through the deployment of three rescue ships: Sea-Watch 5, Sea-Eye 4 and Humanity 1. A praiseworthy action that takes place within and on the border territories of the European Union, with a humanitarian impact that goes beyond political frontiers.

United4Rescue is a broad alliance of 884 organisations united by the conviction that people should not be left to drown. The alliance publicly supports sea rescue and safe escape routes and represents four demands:

1. Maritime search and rescue (SAR) is an obligation and the right to life is non-negotiable: the EU and its member states must guarantee this on the Mediterranean.

2. No criminalisation: civil SAR operations must no longer be obstructed or treated as a criminal offence.

3. Fair asylum procedures: people must not be turned away and sent back to countries where they are in danger and have no rights.

Enable safe havens: cities and communities wishing to accommodate additional refugees must be allowed to do so.
