You will enter our small house through the gate and our very small garden (joined to our very large terrace).



On the ground floor, you will find a dining/living-room incl. kitchen.

Walking up our spiral staircase, you get to the first floor: the bathroom, and our room, starring a mezzanine double bed, a sofa (which can also be used as an individual bed) and two desks plus chairs.



One more level, on the second floor, two bedrooms:

- one is our daughter's, with a floor bed which can sleep two or even three persons if needed;

- the other room is currently uninhabited, so you'll find less stuff there, maybe less atmosphere, but more space for your things, it has a 120 cm wide bed (in between individual and double), a desk, a chair, and much shelf space for storage of clothes, books, luggage, etc.



Outside is the aforementioned very small garden and the very large terrace, a huge plus and a rare chance within Paris. The terrace is shared with the apartment next door, whose usual inhabitants are also in holidays. If we find someone to live there for a few weeks, then you may share the terrace with this person. But at that point, it seems unlikely.



All in all, small spaces as is common in big cities, fitted with care and love. In the interest of best choices informed by full disclosure:

- do NOT come if you are looking for a luxury minimalist space to relax your senses with white-only walls after long days in the city of lights: as it is our home and not a full-time rental, it has all our things in it, and there are children's toys on each level ; we'll leave it clean and tidy for you, and expect to find it reasonably well cared for (no need to spend the last day of your holiday cleaning, enjoy your time, as long as our things are not broken or all displaced throughout the house, we'll be happy!!)

- DO come if you are looking for a moderately priced option, adjusting for the constraint of respecting our place as you would like us to treat yours. :-) :-) :-)



Our neighbourhood, Télégraphe, also sometimes called "Hauts de Belleville", is inside Paris itself (meaning relatively central, as Paris is a small area, everything else being considered suburbs). It is mainly serviced by metro line 11, which takes you to the very center (Châtelet) in 15 minutes. Also many buses, the tram, etc. Public transport is all you need in Paris. If you are into rental bikes, velib' is also available.



We also love that our immediate neighbourhood is a bit village-like: we live in the immediate vicinity of a bakery, a pharmacy, a school, a post office, a bar and a few restaurants... it is a mixed, not slowly but not overwhelmingly gentrifying area.



Fun fact: it also happen to be the highest altitude point in Paris (this fact is contested by Montmartre, but attested by an official plaque in our street...) :-
