#NoMonoculture

3 Global project

Description

The #Nomonoculture campaign was born as a reaction to the phenomenon of land-grabbing in Tuscia, which produces devastating impacts on the environment (the quality and quantity standards required are incompatible with organic productions and an outsized water requirement) on the social fabric (loss of land for all other agricultural and livestock enterprises, with cascading effects on the quality of life and the tourism industry) and economic (it binds the economy of an entire territory to a single buyer in a de facto monopoly).

In contrast to this phenomenon, the campaign organizes during each year of activity recurring public events, flash mobs, conferences, production of printed and video materials (peasant homily) public screenings, interregional coordination meetings.

The project "#NoMomoculture", launched in 2018, aims to represent a fixed and constant territorial garrison through open meetings on a weekly basis, in which to elaborate activities relevant to public opinion. Over the years, the campaign manages to constitute itself as an observatory not only for the problem of hazelnuts, but also for other critical issues and speculations of which the territory is the subject (such as nuclear power and pesticides in general).
