Towards the end of the last millennium, my partner (Bruno) and I, looking for a house in the countryside for a couple of years, were happily impressed by this old and solid brick construction face-to-face, with a couple of outbuildings and just over half a hectare of land around. We make it to buy it, we do some renovation work, and above all we live there, to live as much as possible that contact with the countryside that we have always sought in our existence; I find him at 18 years old, leaving Turin to settle in Tuscany where I become a herbalist, Bruno in this countryside has always lived there, without ever feeling the call of the city.
So we are here, halfway between Pisa and Volterra, in this place that we consider as the realization not so much of a bucolic dream, but rather of the goal of living in nature on tiptoe, trying to limit our "impact" as much as possible, even with effort, but always with enormous gratification ...
So we try to intervene on the quantity and quality of our consumption (photovoltaic system, 100% certified electricity from renewable sources, rainwater recovery, heating with reclaimed wood from gardening activities, food from organic and local farming, small self-productions, ...) and we are happy when we have the opportunity to share certain principles with our guests. We also offer short botanical-herbal itineraries to deepen these issues and to promote the knowledge of our territory.
